Operation Nest Egg

An incubator at Willowbank
In Operation Nest Egg we collect kiwi eggs and take them to Willowbank in Christchurch to hatch in the incubator.
Then the chicks go to an island free of predators.
When they are 1 kg they can look after themselves and they are put back into the Okarito Kiwi Sanctuary.

Hi there Jorja. Im Ollie, another kiwi worker here. We have had 12 eggs in the forest. We have removed 8 eggs (to Willowbank as you know). Of those 8 only 4 were any good, like the chicken eggs you hatched in the class. Two eggs were not incubated by their parents. Right now we have three eggs still in the forest. Ollie.
